Camilla Staerk’s GenArt sponsorship

It’s great when Europeans crack the New York fashion scene. Danish born, London trained designer Camilla Staerk seems to have done just that. This season she was awarded the Gen Art sponsorship. Past sponsorship recipiants include Zac Posen, Twinkle by Wenlan and, one of my favorite designers, Phillip Lim.
While Camilla remains the inspiration behind the London based brand Camilla Staerk, she has left her namesake brand and relaunched under Staerk.
I was not impressed with the SS08 collection but I’m looking forward to the AW08 collection showing in New York on 8 February with Camilla’s return to the black pallette she is so comfortable with for a Bride of the Black Moon inspired collection. Camilla herself wore a vintage black lace wedding dress that looked so her.
