My Real Size for Fashion Designers

I was in the store the other day trying to size a pair of pants. I asked the salesperson for some help and she asked me what size I was. “Flared, regular, slim or baggy,” she asked with a puzzled look on her face.

Is it just me or did you ever feel like saying, “My legs are a little chunky but my waste is like so thin but my ass has a little extra that still looks like soooooooo good so I’m really not sure.” In other words, would you please make a pair of jeans for a forty year old who could still rock the house on any given night. Can I be any more direct than to tell clothing manufacturers to start making clothes for people and not the plastic woman that’s always the tallest chick in the house.

That’s why I was so happy to see an article in the New York Times which highlights what many are calling the jean fitting trend.
