Dated Sinks Home Sales

I was reading a brilliant article in the Washington Post on how a dated home can really sink a home sale. If a buyer wants to spend a few million dollars, they expect certain given luxuries including central air conditioning, circuit breakers and central vacuum capabilities.

Even on the lower end of the market, a 900 square foot home with only one bathroom is difficult to sell in the current market as buyers have become to expect certain luxuries.

The article points out that spiral staircases are a tough sell. Also, ceilings that look like they’ve been stuccoed will put a frown on the face of most seasoned real estate agents.
